Surely nothing could be more peaty and smoky than Laphroaig. Its not light as such, just lighter and more subtle, but still distinctly an Islay malt.
It's really grown on me. Doesn't replace Laphroaig as my favourite campfire drink, but is an interesting alternative and goes particularly well with a good smoked salmon. I also like the fact that its a small family run distillery that grows its own barley - and the Land Rover connection.
