    Don't you just hate it!!

    Hi,
I've been busy with the flat tray, picking up gravel, cement, steel etc for a while. Lots of small trips because I have to use the stuff as I bring it home because of limited storage space. It also seems less daunting in small amounts.

So it's off for another load. Hop in, ignition on, Engine Saver beeps as it should, and as the starter position is reached with the key,......... silence and no lights.

    What?

    Nothing!

    Zilch!

    Dead as.

It is raining and no shelter, so I grab the other car and head off, calling in to JC on the way.

Explaining the circumstances and the symptoms to Justin, with his head under the bonnet of another vehicle, interrupting in the middle of a job of course, and the diagnosis is made promptly that it is a loose earth on the battery.

Yep. A year ago I put in a new battery to replace the failed original starter battery and the earth terminal was loose.
It is not a good fit and I will have to shim it a bit to get a good contact.

And here I was thinking Megafuses or some catastrophe.

    Thanks mate, you are awesome.

    Cheers

Don't worry it happens. 3 times and I was pondering trying to eliminate the passive embosser completely and fitting a rat trap if I had to spend $1000.
It must have relearned itself as it has not returned for some time. The three non starts were all in 2 to 3 weeks of each other, and very random. Standard engine temp was the only commonality. I'd re glow it and wait sometimes for 30 or so attempts before eventually it would fire up. But like you, caught out when not needed. Pity my reverse lights have not suffered the same outcome.

Sprung!! Only for a couple of days this time but sunday ( our last day ) we are off for a drive around the scenic rim.. staying with swmbo's aunt and uncle in Beenleigh. Was thinking of a trip out West to surprise the Swift family however the rather large number of extended family are all wanting to meet me and daughter Rose so its like a royal tour here.
We'll be back up here again for longer soon enough I'm quite liking the semi rural Tamborine area actually....

Which means you're within a stones throw from me!

Next time you're up, and have a bit of time, you're welcome to drop by.
