    BAS Re-map, EGR & Oil Catch cans.

    I have a 2013 2.2L 110 and have ordered a BASRRC 170 Remap, silicon hoses & Intercooler and Pete has confirmed that this remap will turn off the EGR and EGR blocking is not required. I was wondering if anyone has physically blocked the EGR or if they have just left it as is. Any benefits either way?

    Also wondering about a MANN+HUMMEL ProVent 200 Oil Catch Can with this system, it should be able to handle the flow? other suggestions? Is it worth it in a vehicle that has already done 60K km? If I'm going to do this I would rather do it before the new intercooler goes in.

    Hey Lee,
    Reply's seem a bit thin on the ground. I have the same BASRRC 170 and intercooler with silicon hoses in my MY12 2.2 TDCi. You will love it. It is supposed to keep the EGR valve closed.
    I didn't bother with the catch can but have fitted the snorkel sealing kit (can't remember off-hand who from, but through AULRO). A good thing to do while you have the intercooler hose out on the drivers side. I removed the air box completely which gave much more space to play with the hose and the sealing kit but it was a major PITA to remove and to refit.

    Yes the Provent is a good idea. The PV200 will do the job fine.

    Thanks guys, I've already done the snorkel with nuggets air intake kit, thats a fantastic bit of gear, changed the sound of the vehicle. I'm hoping to get the new ECU in on friday and load up the BAS150BHP to start with as I haven't got time to do the intercooler yet, we have a little one scheduled to arrive on monday. Still need to order the provent as well.

    From memory.... when using BAS remap with EGR closed, don't physicaly close it off as well. The remap allows for opening of the EGR under certain circumstances.. I think if the engine gets a bit hot ..
