I'd be leaning towards the MAF being not up to spec. Apparently you can check it out with the nanocom, it should give you an air flow rate for idle and at certain revs and there is a range for what it should be.
Can you hear the fuel pump???
The kg/hr at idle should be between 49 and 61 kg/hr. A decent throttle blip should see 450 to 500.

Im having the same symptoms with with my td5.
nano MAF reading what they should be at idle but under power only half or less . I also came to the conclusion its my MAF sensor.
While I am waiting for some MAFs to come in I had one yesterday which showed NO evidence why it wasn't going nicely at all
After mucking around with the injector wiring loom, throwing out the EGR, putting in a decent air filter and cleaning loads of muck out of the intercooler it still was only slightly better, meaning it went up our test hill at 55 instead of 50. My 200 tdi does 70.
Rafa (my associate ) says b...y modern cars can't turn the pump or what. it isn't going half as it should. Why is it not getting any diesel.
Oh I said that is it. Dived under the car and pulled out the fuel filter.
after cleaning the line going TO the filter Rafa opened the old filter.
NOW I REALLY want to know how to post a picture here.
Don't know, when I was in Oz 25 years ago at times the fuel was really bad. (I had a load in Kintore which stranded me with my Toyota for a day.)
Here it happens...
Needless to say it goes fine now.
Weeds, the turbo pressure from memory has to have atmospheric pressure added or something silly like that.
Its just something I remember from D2 days with the original nannycoms.
