My fullriver battery is on its last legs, been in the car for 10 years.
Its an aux battery powering the fridge, rear spots, water pump and compressor.
Frequently discharged.
I also have another fullriver in the boat, 6 years on and still good.
Will be replacing the fullriver with another fullriver.
Hi there.
I replaced the original factory battery on Wednesday.
Not bad for a 2008 vehicle.
Used these guys and bought on line and delivered next day.
Kept a 12v supply to the leads and the radio stations stayed programmed in

I replaced genuine battery with another from land rover.
From memory, most of the aftermarket suppliers list the same replacement battery for the defender and the range rover (a different beast, with start/stop requirements). No one seemed to know exactly what was required for the defender - most of them think of a discovery when you tell em you have a defender. Wet cell, dry cell etc.
The local dealer, as usual i find, is surprisingly negotiable on price - I paid just over $400 i think for a genuine replacement from people who knew exactly what i needed. This was the cheapest of all the prices I was able to get - genuine or otherwise - (things might be different over east).
Also as space is so tight (I also have the optima yellow top with all the other fruit), i was confident it would fit exactly.
So, maybe pursue the dealer a little harder...? It usually works for me.
Cheers, Sam
Just to bring life to this thread, I’ve just updated my perfectly fine Varta main battery with the ITechWorld Lithium Heavy Duty Starter battery.
Huge CCA which is great for my 6.2 LS3 V8 on a -5 Deg C Tassie morning
‘’Mostly as I’m on a pilgrimage to save weight, and I’m an incurable tech head so I thought I’d give it a try. It’s 8Kg vs 24Kg.
Ive their Lithium 120 battery in the back of my 110 doing accessories duty and it’s great, charges perfectly off my Redarc non Lithium profile charger and is 1/3the weight of the old lead glass mat lump that was in there.
I’ll post how it goes as I wanted to access the passengers seat anyway to do some rewiring and add a solid state circuit controller for 6 circuits via one triggered accessory live switch.
More to follow.
