    Bendix brakes

I have used Bendix brakes from repco front and rear and don't normally have a squeal.

Try a pad change and ascertain if you can get the new bendix pads. Looks like both their suv and heavy duty pads have the rubber backing to reduce noise.
If the discs are still good try a change and just scuff the disc with glasspaper prior to install. Use a circular motion when rubbing and just do it by hand.

Other option is to regrind the disc face and install new pads.

New pads on old worn discs can be exciting for the first few stops so follow the install directions.

Had the same issue on my TD5, could not get rid of the noise, spoke with my independent service guy (Land Rover expert) said replace with genuine pads, which I did and problem gone. Now have exactly the same problem on my 300Tdi, new rotors and pads which were supposed to be genuine but appears they are not. Problem is only there on light to medium braking, heavy application of the pedal no problem. Looking like I need to change these for genuine but as this is my project vehicle not a priority just now.

My Defender brakes never squeal if I have not been on a dusty road.
They always squeal if I have been on a dusty road.

Through my indy service guy. Been going to the same place for over 30 years! I have only had a problem when I have gone to another mechanic due to proximity , I live 90km from my Landy guy.

Just curious here.... but if your Discs are "Glazed", is this a indication that the PADS are TOO HARD or is it a indication of something else?

If it is a indication of Pads, then would a "softer" pad be the go then and if so, do they actually make softer Disc Pads?

    Discs?

I used anti squeal shims on my rear breaks. Fixed the problem.

My rear brakes squeal on light use since the rotors and pads were done recently. I'm ignoring it.

A set of Pads I've tried already had shims on them and that didn't solve the issue.....
