The solenoid on mine gave up the ghost after 19 years, personally I don't think they are worth fixing when you can have a new one delivered for $175. Pat
I need a little help here.
Is anyone familiar with this starter?
I have the solenoid off because I think there is something wrong with the contacts, but it looks like a crimped assembly, can't get to the contacts. Does it come apart?
I had the unpleasant experience of the starter suddenly engaging while the engine was running.
Continued after I turned off the ignition key, and also with the yellow relay removed.
Flattened the battery before I could get the battery terminal off.

That's the way it is looking. Starter looks original at 22 yrs.
The rest of it looks reasonable, just needs a clean and bearings and gears greased.
Thanks Pat.
