I'm seriously unhappy at the moment.

There are lots of horror stories about Shonky or Inept dealerships and independent workshops So it is important to find a workshop/dealership that does do quality work and that they also they guarantee the work that they do and that they back up that guarantee with action not BS.
I am So glad that I live in Geraldton and not in the other areas/States that have these Inept/Shonky workshops in them[thumbsupbig]

I could write a novel with all the stuff I've seen over the years...😒

I'm trying to sell it now and have been for a while, it's been over serviced with all things like this shaft and axles replaced etc., but I think buyers are going for the "dealer serviced" vehicle rather than one that's been properly looked after.

I think I know this dealer. I had my 2015 Puma (Jack) in for a service a couple of years ago and it came back scratched to bu**ery with little sworls in the duco. The car went in quite dirty (a lesson there) and they washed it as 'part of the service'. What they didn't do was try to get the surface grit off so just rubbed the grit into the paint. They also scratched the bullbar where they had sat and hung tools on the top tubing. Annoying thing is the scratches on the bar slap me in the face when I drive reminding me of the sh*t service the dealer gave. When I called the dealer to complain they reminded me the car has scratches down the side (bush pinstriping) but said to bring the car in and they would have a look. In the end I didn't have time, couldn't be bothered arguing with the guy and just put it down to experience.

Couldn't wait for the warranty to run out. I live in Sydney now (Inner West) and am keen to find a good mechanic to service Jack.

I recon i could do the same,mine would have about 300pages,thats only the first volume....[biggrin][bigsad]

Yep, I think it's worse than the motor trade Paul....

Interesting that when I worked as a race car tech/engineer that the best mechs weren't ex-road car mechanic's but from other trades/professions...

The couple that were were pretty awful...

I had the oil pick up recall done by the local stealership, got it back, didn't think much about it, got it up on a hoist one day to look at cutting out the centre muffler. The bolt closet to the engine block on the sump was stripped and was black siliconed on to stop it from coming loose. A few pictures and a terse email to the "Service Consultant" later they didn't hesitate to fix it. The idiots also replaced the gearbox after they did the output shaft, all because there was a noise in it that ended up being a rattling clutch plate spring. The clutch is much nicer now. Also replaced (under warranty) the turbo hoses, MAF sensor, ECM, all because the intercooler had a hole in it and they couldn't pick it. Took them 2 weeks with a loan car to sort that one. Luckily for me, One of their ex employee's got the ****s with them, left and started his own independent LR workshop and now is doing a roaring trade due to LR's incompetence. His attention to detail is fantastic, even little things like setting up the screen washers to hit the screen at the same spot during a service.

110% agree.
i wouldnt continue to own a LR if it wasnt for my mechanic.

This is the reason my BIL sold his shiny new Triton and bought an old 80 series. The dealer kept messing up the services. One time the sump plug was left loose and dumped his oil on the road while driving!
The BIL is a mechanic and is much happier doing it all himself.

If the mechanics that do it 36 hours a week are as bad as most of them prove I am not sure about that
I recently had a clutch job done the first thing I find when I get home is all the clips for the bonnet stays are broken off (Ok I forgive that as they are only plastic)
A month later I cant get the car out of diff lock after pulling it all apart I find that they haven't bothered doing up the bolt on the diff lock linkage.

I dont see how people drive Land Rovers without being mechanics certainly in remote areas
