[QUOTE Sounds great, any photos?
What brand of cameras did you use (assuming dash cams)?[/QUOTE]
I went with a Kenwood unit about $700 (last year's model).
Sorry no photos. That article is all you need re photos. I was struggling with the birds nest behind the dash illuminated primarily with a head torch. With a looming holiday deadline i'm working on it at night after work. There was a tip from someone else to use a hot air gun to push down the air vents for the head unit to fit. I removed the metal bracket and whacked the mount with a hammer for the head unit to fit. Another tip, the orange/dark orange wire (i vaguely recall as i sit 50km from the car) on the factory pug is the illumination trigger which most head unit now have. When the head lights turn on the screen is dimmed.
The rear camera is one from Jaycar bit pricey at $110 but it has LEDS and great night vision. The camera uses a 4 pin video lead that i ran to the dash and used an adaptor to split the video from the power. The front camera is one that came with the Kenwood (CMOS). I drilled a hole in the number plate and mounted it. It should give me vision when you are on the precipice and the track is below your line of sight. Also when trying to park a 130 and the rear of the car in front is lost below your line of sight. My experience those small car owners don't appreciate my touch (with bull bar) parking technique.
Other presents for the D130: BAS remap (yet to load) and a GAP diagnostic tool (yet to receive). Will remove the rear seat box and fit an 85 ltr water tank on the floor. New turbo (old one has a sticky waste gate and over boosts) and i will remove the entire EGR system and re-route or plug the hoses. I see no point in adding heat from the exchanger to the cooling system and i'm yet to come across a mechanic that inspects the back of the engine block for Rego. If i was dedicated i'd replace the EGR exchanger with a water heating exchanger for showers but i'm not that fussed and the wife travels with me only in a blue moon when pigs are flying backward.
