That grab handle looks good. I think The Navigator would like that. Got any hints on where to get one, please?

    I got a pair via eBay - they’re alloy.

You can also fit up the standard ones from above the passengers - just a small piece of foam to enable it to follow the curve in that instance.

Thanks for the link, always thought about fitting them but was concerned about the screws not being up to the task and more so the bit of alloy on the A Pillar as from memory it isn’t that substantial

I wouldn’t hang all my weight off them.
However a normal grab handle in say a D4 is held with same diameter screws into plastic clips.

Hey Tombie, did you tap the manifold for the probe or get someone to do it? Any tips on how not to mess the job up?

    Regards,

    I did, with much trepidation!

Thanks to a phone call to JC I got into it.

4mm (I had a Cobalt 4mm) pilot hole to set the position (grease the drill bit)
Clean up with vacuum to remove swarf
Then correct size drill for the tap. Same deal, greased to catch the swarf.
    Clean up with shop vac,
Then started engine for a second to blow out the hole.
    Shut down
Grease up Tap and cut thread (this bit is the most worrying)
Again vac clean and start engine to blow any swarf either out or into exhaust,
    Shut down and fit probe.

Today I tinted my warning panel. Like most, one end has faded from the sun.
I purchased some matte black tint film and applied it over the plastic. The warning lamps are still clear enough to see in daylight.
Back to looking a little more uniform.

    The art of misdirection

Whilst the rest of my car is in pieces due to double din upgrade, CB, drawer system and false floor construction etc etc. I thought I would distract you with something I've wanted to do for quite a while but put on the backburner - a kick panel for the rear ladder. I found that years of muddy boot toes climbing up and down the ladder was scratching the paintwork. Plus the NSW number plate has to be bent to make it around the ladder bracket so this helps to flatten it quite a bit. I etch primed and painted it with satin gloss black enamel paint to match the other chequer plating. Simple yes, but I needed some runs on the board and I'm quite pleased with the result
