    Allisport radiator and intercooler

    Hi all

    Just after some feedback please.

    Looking at upgrading my original intercooler and radiator to the new Allisport alloy units. Its a 1998 300 Tdi 110 wagon.

    Has anyone used them or any others...?

    Any issues?

    My very reputable mechanic says they don't install them because there is too much flex in the defender chassis and the alloy units can't take it and can crack.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Cheers

    I use to have an Allisport radiator and inter cooler in a TD5 Defender.
    Beautifully made bit of kit I still have the intercooler but the radiator leaked badly after 4 years it was not cracked but just leaked at the tubes no warranty after that time this didn’t make it good value in my opinion.
    I don’t agree that a Defender chassis flexes enough to damage things if they are mounted properly.

    A new copper radiator and double core allisport intercooler would be a straight swap and last. I am pushing 20psi through the double core, almost 10 years old now, EGTs are well under control. This defender has eaten through 2 alloy radiators during this time (not allisport).

    I had an Allisport IC in my Td5 Defender and it was badly cracked. Graeme Cooper replaced it with an unit that looks really strong and well built. I am really impressed with it after three months.
    Here is a pic of my Allisport unit,

    4x4 Outdoor Tuning :: High Performance Intercooler for Defender 200 / 300Tdi ( no air con )

    I got one of above in my bus. No problems after 5 or so years. Made a very big improvement.

    I've had my Allisport intercooler in my 1998 300Tdi 130 for over 5 years now running 18 pounds of boost. No issues to report. Been going very well.

    I got an allisport drop in replacement intercooler for my 300TDI , I found that it leaked where the tubes join the tank the first time I cleaned it out .
    Allisport thought that was ok , but I was not impressed .
