    Help with Smokey td5

Something obviously isn’t right not sure what though.
Almost looks like rings maybe broken rings?
Are the intercooler hoses excessively oily? this would support Phillips suggestion re turbo
Can the catch can create an issue like this?
Seen plenty of td5s make more black smoke than that provided it is pre boost I figure it’s ok
    What are the EGTs

Sorry have no diagnostic tool or egt temp gauge.
I had cleaned out the intercooler a month ago there wasn't an excessive amount of oil in there i think most of it is coming through the breather hose.

    Hi Smokey1,
I have had a Smokey td5 for a while and a fuel starvation issue where the car would stall randomly. I would get a whoosh when removing the fuel cap, my mechanic suggested this was wrong so I have tried driving around with the fuel cap just sitting in place by a few threads. And bingo Smokeyness gone and so has the stalling.
I now need to get myself a properly vented cap.
    Give it a crack.
