Should be fine just program correct injector codes and Change everything over
There is a difference as to how the turbo boost is managed just use the defender bits
Hi Guys,
would a Land Rover Discovery 2 Td5 15P engine fit on a TD5 Defender 15p engine?
And what about a TD5 discovery transmission?
Thank you!

Motor yep
If the disco is manual then you'll need to swap the shifter housing and linkage over
If it's auto you'll need a lot more ( eg TCU , ecu, wiring harness etc... Doable if you have the complete disco
I am sorry if I have misunderstood your post but were you talking about converting a defender to auto?
I understood you were just taking the engine out of a Disco and putting it in a Defender to replace the broken one.
If you move the old injectors from one engine to another you dont have to program the codes to the ecu
Some would say that if the injector washers etc are not leaking its probably best not to upset them.
Also a lot more work to do that
A simple Nanocom would be needed to put the codes for the new engine in the old ecu not complicated someone could likely do it for you
It will run without this being done but its not optimal just remember you will need the injector codes from the new engine to put them into the ecu.
I know that sounds obvious but if you had them written down and drove the car to someone with a Nanocom it will be a simple excercise
If you are going to put a Td5 into a non Td5 Defender you will need a bit more than just injector codes. For the auto you are going to need a controller, there are a few after market ones. If you do some searches on this forum I think you will find others have already skin that cat.
