I was a second owner of a 2012 and JRA sent me a recall notice by registered letter, which i took to mean that they wanted the everybody to get the modification done.
If you know of anyone with a 2011/2012 and later they should check for recalls.

Mine too. It's a 130 2012 model. Was all part of an official re-call. I was notified officially in writing

Though they didn't fix it properly, just added a brace so the wheel would stay on long enough of you to stop it.

You would have a very good case for a claim if anything like that happened to a defender of that era.

I saw this mentioned over on the Defender2 site. It is a replacement front axle by Britpart of all people. (You either love 'em or hate 'em). I do not think it is exclusively for the Puma but it looks like a fairly substantial piece of ironmongery. It seems to be more substantial all over and not just as a remedy for the dodgy welds. Cannot find it listed anywhere or a price for it for that matter. Maybe because it is just a new item.

Looks good. Be great if they offered it with rotated ends. People who rung that sorta axle will be running lifts. 1 part will then sort out the weak axle housing and caster correction,

If your axle had a bearing on the emissions they would have changed it.

Still think they should have changed the axle....
