    130 Rear Seat Modification

As the kids have grown up now and no longer do the trips with us in the 130 the Dogs can now travel in the back of the cab with us.
But we found that the rear seats were to small for them to sit on as I had changed out the rear bench seats about 9 years ago for some front seats from a wrecked single cab which had 3 seats.
Having put the single cab seats in the back I was able to access the rear seat box easily as all I had to do is lift the seat base to get to my tools and recovery gear that I store under the seats and the seats fold forward as well so I can also store stuff behind the seats and the rear wall as well.
Well I wanted to make a flat area in the back so the Dogs could lay down and be more comfortable, as the seats bases are a bit small for 40kg Dogs to lay down on , but I also wanted to access the rear box just as easily as before.
So I made some brackets that went into the same holes as the seat bases do and screwed some ply wood to the top.
This made a big flat area now for the Dogs to lay down on , and I can get to my tools and recovery gear just as easily still .
After fitting this I now have a space under the brackets which looks like I can make a slide out draw latter to put more stuff in.20181210_085644.jpg 20181210_085811.jpg20181210_090105.jpg20181210_090234.jpg20181210_094212.jpg20181210_095126.jpg20181210_094550.jpg

    Nice dog.
When we do an extended trip with just the two of us, I take out the rear seats and the box they sit on, makes a big flat area, our fridge bolts down behind the passenger seat and the rest of the area takes a couple of stacks of plastic tubs. I guess with your setup you have a platform for the dogs plus the storage under.
