Ah, OK. apologies for the misunderstanding.
From my end, can't really help on the rest of it. No idea on non EU3 TD5 .. Brothers is EU3(with the external fuel return hose system), and this is the only TD5 I've worked on.
But what happened was that he ordered a FPR(dunno where from) and when it came it was the wrong type. It didn't have the external hose return.
But(and I'm working off a very, very vague memory here) fitting it didn't look different in terms of the other connections, after the EU3 version FPR came.
I remember one hose from the tank/fuel filter, other hose going to the cooler. Those came off the FPR body laterally, and the forward connection/hose for the return, which the early FPR didn't have.
I remember the packaging too: early FRP came with a single gasket, and the hose on the body was looped on the pipes. That is, one bolted end of the hose and the loose end with the quick connect was looped back onto the quick connect pipe.
The proper FPR came packed the same way, hose looped onto the body. differences being that the return hose/pipe section, and that it came with two gaskets. One of which was an early type.
Had a quick look at RAVE again, and the only difference I see, again, is the FPR body.
Just one other tip, I'd recommend to spend the small amount of money and renew the seals on whichever fuel cooler you end up using.
We did some work to bros D2 a while back, and 'disturbed' the fuel cooler(just had to manoeuvre it out of the way) and after that it started leaking(coolant) from the front O ring. I'd say the stress put on it caused it.
