Disabling immobiliser for remote touring

No, although with my usage I’m not particularly worried about it. Having read of a few examples of vehicles not starting due to problems with the immobiliser I am more concerned about it leaving me stranded in the middle of nowhere than someone nicking it.

When the alarm is set the immobiliser works as normal. It’s only the passive immobiliser I have (hopefully) disabled, so when it’s sitting unlocked it doesn’t immobilise.

I've come across this PDF File on the Nanocom Page (lucas-10as-alarm-nanocom-evolution.pdf). I've had a quick through it but unsure if the nanocom will allow u to change anything.... hoping others can confirm Yes/No as to whether the passive function can be disabled ??

If all else fails, pull the 10AS plugs, one grey, one green, and wait an hour. Could be a shorter time but haven't worked that far down yet :0( re-insert plugs red led should come back on and if fob batteries and all else equal he should crank and start.

How access able are the 10AS on a puma??

Yep, Literally just had the passive one disabled yesterday for a remote trip coming up. That way i can use the FOB if its at home and needs to be locked

Right, so, unless you press the 'lock' button on your FOB to lock the vehicle and arm the immobiliser, it is essentially all in an 'off' state - so you just lock/unlock the car with the key, not using the FOB? I assume the FOB still needs to be close to the ignition to start though?

Not 100% sure, ill have a play tonight after work and let you know if i need the fob to start it at all

Ok, well ive got it back with the immobilizer disabled now when i look it the indicators dont flash (with Key) so im assuming he has disabled the active and passive? That said im going remote for awhile so im happy with it disabled as its one more thing that could give me grief

Nope if you lock it with just the key with the passive timeout disabled you don't need the fob near it to start. I tested this awhile back by letting it sit overnight.

I keep mine like like this. Around town I can set the alarm using the fob, when away I can just use the key.

I'm still wondering how likely it is an immobiliser would malfunction and stop the vehicle. If it failed, wouldn't it be more likely to not immobilise it? Just curious.
