Yes worth the money, go for maxidrive or ashcroft. Oiled bearing is a great upgrade too, not sure what hub seal the puma has, but you need rtc3511.
Maxi chromoly axles worth the $?
Maxi chromoly axles worth the $?
So during my Tassy 4WDing trip, I noticed grease coming out of the rear wheel hub bolts and after speaking with a land rover mechanic, it turns out my seal between the diff and hub has gone and oil and grease are mixing together.
So while I have the axles out, I was thinking about upgrading them to maxi chromoly and also maxi flanges. I'm also thinking about removing the seal and having oil lubricated hubs. Are the maxi chromoly axles worth the money? I'll be doing the front flanges too but can't decided if I should upgrade the front axles too? I've been told it's not really needed, except for comp driving.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

Or PJ's axles from Toowoomba.
They seem to be the new flavour of the month

Yes. Over $1000 a pair. People are easily conned.

Unless you are upgrading the diff and or ****ty R&P in the tdci rear end id save your money
And put it into an Ashcroft centre in your transfer case.
That’s a real improvement.
Flanges are a given and oil lubed bearings are good options.
