Thread: Front diff / rear diff differences

I am hoping someone could help me understand the differences between the front and rear diffs on a puma.

I'll try keep this short, I bought a 2012 90 (after wanting one for 20+ years) last year and I'm slowly working my way around the car replacing all the fluids and got to greasing the prop shafts today.

When I put the car on stands and spin one of the rear wheels, the opposite rear wheel turns as expected. When I turn a front wheel, it just spins freely, without effecting the other front wheel. This has me a bit confused, so I was hoping someone could help me understand if this is normal and how the diffs are different.

Ha that's the issue sometimes, finding things that require further work (or are held together by dirt!) I usually clean things as I work on them, to help me remember what I have worked on. When I change the air filter I give the lid and snorkel pipes a clean and look over, it gets written in a book too, but makes it easy to see what's been serviced at a glance.
