It should be fine
Some on Def2 forum in UK have run without the heat shield for long time
Risk would be cooling the paint on the bonnet and not much else really.
It will be fine

G'day all,
Interested to know if this support bracket is integral - in the short term at least...
Went to replace the heat shield bracket that had broken and was rattling like no one's business - snapped the rearward bolt in the exhaust manifold...
Tried to drill and reverse it out but it's just too awkward of an angle to get at without pulling the manifold out.
(Edit): I now can't reattach the bracket that braces the turbo to the exhaust manifold (top hole of bracket im holding in image).
Car is going into the shop end of July - I assume it is probably okay for street duty till then or is the bracket structurally significant in keeping the turbo from cracking the exhaust manifold?
Tah

Oh yeah sorry I was very vague in my post (edited now) - im not too worried about the heat have been running sans shield for some weeks. More the lack of that bracket I'm holding in the second photo which braces the turbo to the exhaust manifold. Unsure how structural it is and whether I'm introducing a lot of strain to the turbo flange/exhaust manifold by driving without it.
Cheers
