    300tdi AC Condenser

    Hey Legends,

I need a new AC condenser for my 95 defender 130, and haven't had much luck sourcing one.
Has someone fitted one from another vehicle?

Have been tossing up ditching the unit but if it can be done i would like to know.

    Cheers

Stripped it down myself and removed the box. cleaned evaporator and then gave it to a aircon guy to change out the tx valve. I then put it back together with new orings and will be getting it regassed in the next week or so. I did not have to worry about decanting the gas as the compressor seal had blown and non in the system. Can you remove and replace parts yourself ?? Yes you can. Baz

    Hey Baz

Does your replacement have the same fin pitch as the old one. I have had enough of my defender running hot so I am getting a more efficient radiator. I reckon the very fine pitch of the air con condenser is a big part of of the problem. So I would be keen to see if there is a less restrictive option.

I know everything in the cooling system has to perfect in a tdi to keep the temps under control but event then it is still marginal. I want to be able to tow my tvan on those 40 degree degree days with the air con running full bore and not having to spend the whole time with my eyes glued to the temp gauge.
