Has anyone gone the overkill route of 'I hate Christmas tree clips so I'll use rivnuts instead' on their door cards?
Something I've been wanting to do it for a while and just wondering if there are any tips/tricks to be aware of ?

I bought a stainless steel door card with fold down tray off a forum member for the rear barn door of my D1. It got fitted on the morning of a trip up to Broome and I used pop rivets as it was quick due to the rush to get away. I got hammered with corrugations on that trip, and because the door card was heavy, a couple of the rivets started to pop out (rivets too small and not enough of them?). By chance the lock jammed on the day I got back so I ended up drilling out all the pop rivets, fixed the lock and put in rivnuts instead. Best idea ever as it has had to come off a couple more times and it makes the job real easy.
Life is just a series of obstacles preventing you from taking a nap.
Cool.
Any idea what size and how many rivnuts needed for a Defender ?

I used M4 attaching an aluminium panel to the rear door. The picture is not too clear but give some idea.IMG_9560.jpg
The panel has a drop down flap to hold the cooker and the bungy holds the kettle.
Put one rivnut into each hole where the plastic clips were and reuse the screws and bolts on the handles. It's a good idea to put shakeporrof washers behind the screwheads to prevent them coming loose in rough conditions.
