At an absolute minimum - the rear welch plug. I would also be looking at the rear main seal, the clutch (if manual) and the seal that goes on the gearbox input shaft.
Tom.
I have come across a 300tdi that has about 250,000klm on it. I want to replace my current engine, which is burning oil, with it and was wondering whether, with that sort of klm's, I could get away with a straight swap as I know its history.
Given the labour involved in the change over would I be better advised to replace some old bits with new even though I know this one burns virtually no oil and had a new head fitted at about 200,000klm.
So, what to replace if anything, on the replacement.
I look forward hearing what you guys think.
