    Radio aerial loose

    Hi
My radio aerial has become loose on the guard. How do I tighten it back up. Can't see any nut under there. Is it held in by a clip.
    Thanks

    Radio aerial loose

The 2 slots in the top, place something in them and turn clockwise.

Angled Circlip pliers do the trick!

No slots in this one. Tried tighten the nut. Might be new aerial time. Any suggestions.

    Ah. Older version..

Look at a GME AM/FM whip. Much better.

My old D1 had a "friction nut" that slides over the thread & pushed up tight to the guard underside. Wasn't terribly satisfactory but it did last the 25 years I had it.

Yours may be well different. I recall having to remove an upper inner panel to gain access.

usually if you pull upwards as hard as you can while you try and tighten, or loosen the nut, it will do what you need most of the time.. if it refuses isn't much fun...

i gave up and did what tombie said.... but on the passenger side guard as i was putting checker plate on the guards and that covered up the old hole and gave me a stronger place to fix it to on the other....
