Need 52mm hub socket Melbourne

Thanks all, I woke up this morning and didnt check the thread here so I ended up getting one from Sydney tools.
I also had to buy a bigger torque wrench $$$. 220Nm to tighten that nut!
I completed the replacement of front rotors, bearings and pads today.

You wouldn't have managed that with the old style hub nut tube spanner! The old hub nuts were tightened to 50Nm then backed off and retightened to 10Nm, with the locknut tightened to 50Nm.

I think I prefer the old system. I wonder if one could downgrade to the old hub nut system?

One can. Many have. I’m about to do it myself. All you need to do is ditch the spacer between the bearings and replace the stake nut and washers with the old style lock nuts.

At least the hub nut tube spanners are available. I saw some on the shelf at KLR last week - but they ain't cheap.

I wonder what a conventional 52mm socket would cost? (I think I have one in my 3/4" drive socket set.)

Hmm, just had a look, a Sidchrome 52mm impact socket is $74! KC Tools about $52.

I have a County axle in the front of my RRC and had a look at adjusting the wheel bearings after I put it in.

It appears there two different stub axles, one has a key like slot for the fat washer between the nuts and one has a flat plane to stop this washer from turning.

Mine had the key type washer on the plane sided stub. [bighmmm]

Still kinda worked but not ideal. Both the key and plane sorts of washers are available.

Look on the internet for 52mm x 3/4" drive sockets. Plenty of them available. 52mm tube spanners are only $15. One pommy mob wants 63 pounds for a 3/4" drive socket. Dream on.

I have a 52mm 1/2 drive impact socket....was a special order from memory as I don’t have 3/4 drive.

A 1/2 to 3/4 adaptor would work also
