    Handbrake microswitch

    Hi Guys,

last thread for me, for now at least !

my handbrake was working perfectly (still does) but for about a week now the handle doesnt depress all the way, so there is no contact with the microswith which is linked to the handbrake on light in the dash.
anyone every face this problem ? do I need to tighten the cable on the centre diff ?

    Thanks in advance

Have you pulled the boot off to see inside? There may be something caught in the mech.

Alsoconsider the possibility that one (or more) strand of the cable has broken. If this is the case, it is best replaced fairly soon, as it could jam on.

    Yep... common fault, cable stretches.
    *Generally it needs replacing.
*There is adjustment on the outside of the seat base for the cable.
*There is also an adjustment for the shoes on the back of the handbrake.
