    Old plastic back seat recovering

    Hi all,

I thought it was time to give something back to the community, after years of info i have gained from this site.

When I first got my 110 the seats were half chewed by a dog and had marks all over the vinyl, the fabric and foam was falling apart. You wont find re trim kits for the plastic backed seats
and I was almost stuck with having to buy complete late model seats. There had been rumors the later foams could fit with modification, however no images or info online.

The following shows whats involved. I have not included the seat base foam and cover replacement as this is the same as later model Defenders.

Hopefully this will help some of you out there understand the simple modifications. if you have any questions let me know.

    Good work

    Hello there,
nice work on the seats, look good. I've got the same problem. Nackered old seats with crumbling foam blowing away in the wind. I've ordered a set of the later trim kits too.
Just wondering what you did with the old plastic back. Bin it?
