    New fuel tank

    Noticed a few small puddles under the back of the 110 over the last week or so. A bit of snooping found quite a lot of "repair work " done to the fuel tank. After dropping the tank out, it was obvious it was well beyond repair. So;

    The maths says 107.5 lts less the baffles, float, and the dregs means I should easily clear 100 lts.

    I did all the drilling/taping/fitting of pickups, senders, etc. this arvo ( so all the swarf did not go in the tank). My fabricator is ( hopefully) welding it all up in the morning.

    It is in, no leaks, even the aftermarket sender unit seems to work with the factory gauge (only 30 lts in it currently). Happy boy.

    Took the heavy steel tray off and the monster bullbar and replaced them with an alloy tray I had sitting on a trailer chassis and a standard Series 3 bumper.

    Tow bar still yet to happen.

    I have Gernied the concrete so my drawing is gone . The tank is 600 wide, 560 long and 320 deep. The support brackets are 6mm, 100/100 angle. I used the stabiliser bar mounts for support left and right and the original tank mount at the back. The tank material is 4mm thick with doubler plates where the sender/pickup/return lines are. 2 Baffles at 1/3 and 2/3s across the tank.

    I am not too concerned about departure angles so I have the towbar sitting about 20mm lower than the tank. Hopefully that will stop me trashing it.

    Towbar now done.
