300 tdi Oiil pressure light does not illuminate at all.

1998 300 tdi defender 130 : Well this one has got me stumped short term. Finally got my handbrake light going only to realise that the oil pressure light does not illuminate on startup and or with ignition on. i removed the light and changed it with another but no difference. Now on the back of the instrument cluster (Cant think of Technical term) It has a circuit type board which the lights attach to. Interestingly the handbrake light which should activate via the circuit board has its own set of wires with plug, numbered 690 on label swinging free inside the dash . Im starting to think i have the wrong cluster fitted. Engine runs fine and Im anal about first parading it at least once a week. Handbrake light fitted to engine temp warning position. Perhaps i have a td5 cluster.

The warning light cluster bulb holders contacts and the circuit board track often corrode.
Remove the bulb holders and clean the track and the contacts
If this doesn’t work the cluster is ax variable from KLR in Windsor

    All sorted

It was the copper track for the oil light. It was fractured where the bend was. With a little drop of solder all is working again. Thanks for the input.
