    I always test the thermostat - even or especially a new one, by boiling it in the billy with an old fashioned thermometer. I once found a faulty new one, so once bitten...

    Damn it!!! forum is always right.

    Just whipped out the thermostat - boiled the kettle and have it sitting next to me in my best pyrex jug.

    And....it's not opening.

    Thanks for the tip AK83 on the Tridon Thermostat. I'll like the idea of slightly cooler opening temp.

    Will go order one of these me thinks.
