    300tdi Steering Pump Brand

    Hello everyone,

It seems that ZF PAS pumps are no longer available anywhere here or in the UK so will need to pick another brand to go with. So far I've encountered Allmakes, Bearmach, and Britpart so wondering what people reckon is the go. Thanks!
    Cheers

I got a cheap one off ebay.

I'd say all those aftermarket types from the usual suspects will be the same .. ie. all made in China.

I thought I had a leak out of the pump(but it was just the high pressure hose at the pump end).

So I got one of the Chinese types off ebay just in case(~$100).
** Just checked .. $112 from RandC out of the UK in early '18. **
That was over two years ago now(approx >20K klms) ... still working fine.

My reasoning was that if it fails at some point in the future, not a problem as I still have my original ZF pump .. will get a refresh and boxed up if/when the Chinese one fails.

Quick search on ebay now and they appear to be in the high 100's low 200's .. so maybe UP Pound was lower back in '18.
Local places appear to have them in the mid 200 price range.

If its of any interest :-

I have been told, but have not confirmed, that MR Automotive at Redcliffe Qld are able to offer reconditioned steering boxes. They also manufacture the Maxi Drive parts.

Adwest in the UK apparently manufacture them they are advertised on Paddock Parts site in the UK but at a price in the region of $1500.

Thanks AK83, I'll go with a cheapie from a local then. The original still works but doing steering box, damper, and ball joints so figured I may as well do the lot.

130Camper, thanks but this is for the pump not the box. Just bought a recon box the other day from TR Spares for $650.

    Cheers!
