Defender TD5 2004 10AS EKA code reader needed

    Hi All,

I am trying to determine the EKA code for the 10AS immobilisor/alarm fitted to my 2004 Defender Xtreme TD5. Fortunately, I am not in a breakdown situation, but I have recently re-activated the alarm/immobilisor, & would like to have the code in case of problems with the remote handset.

I was never supplied with the code at purchase (new), I have contacted JLR, who were very prompt with their reply, but they do not have the EKA code on file either here in Aust or in the UK. I could try arguing with them further, but my understanding is that a Nanocom will read the code. My Lynx diagnostic unit does not seem to be able to do this.

I am at Garfield in W. Gippsland, & my question is, are there any forum members in the SE area of Melbourne, or Gippsland, who have a Nanocom to read the code for me. (There's a nice bottle of red in it! ).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Lionel

Hi Lionel - I have a Nanocom for Td5 here in Moe. Unfortunately I don't have any trips your way planned, but you're welcome to swing by here if you don't get an offer closer to home. I'm working from home these days, so am here most days - weekends more hit and miss. PM me if interested.

I think you can consider this one closed. Lionel was here earlier in the week to get what he needed - was good for the bottle of red too

    Hi All,

Just to thank all who replied to my original post.

Thanks to towe0609 I was able to read the EKA using his Nanocom.

While I got a very quick response from JLR Aust., I can't say I'm very impressed with JLR in the UK, who say they have no record of the EKA for my vehicle. No doubt a LR dealer would have software to read it if it was a breakdown situation, but this dooes not help if one is 1000km from a dealer if something goes wrong.

It's not surprising that most have the immobiliser turned off if they are doing long trips.

    Cheers,

    Lionel
