    Righting the Wrongs

    Hi Everyone,

Long time reader, first time poster here.....please go easy on me.

I have a 300tdi 130 Single Cab Ute, 300k's on the clock and more dents than a golf ball. Not my first Landy (Rangie and Disco previously) and I am dedicated to the Defender for the long haul. As much as I love the Defender, I am attempting to right all of the wrongs (there are not many of them, but let's call them quirks shall we?!!) that come standard.

In order of importance (in my opinion) are the following list of quirks that I plan to tackle:-

Cupholders (I have already completed this with the MUD unit that goes over the trans tunnel)
Air Con (my standard unit works well enough but struggles in the middle of summer and robs the passenger footwell. I have a dual core cooling system on order from Ministry of Defender)
Leaking Transfer Case (booked in to be "sleeved" and rebuilt in January)
Replace all seals, bushes, hoses (already done)
HD drive flanges and shafts (already done)
New timing belt etc (already done)
Replace all oils and service the engine (already done)
Install Wright Off Road acoustic matting to footwell and seat box (already done and by far the best improvement so far)
Import a new gal bulkhead (torn on this one........rust is starting to appear but what is the best long term solution)

Any other suggestions the incorporated brains trust would recommend?

The vehicle is mainly used as a tourer and for carting supplies etc to my property on weekends.

    Welcome to the forum DDrew.

A 130 single cab. Nice. Sounds like a picture worthy vehicle... sounds like it is in the right hands.

Laughed at the golf ball quip.

Very nice. Cheers for the picture.

Many a time I wished for a longer deck than the 110 allows. Not many 130s here in NZ and what are here are predominantly double cabs.
