    Help on Painting a Hinge

Hello all, I am hoping someone can give advice. I have just ordered a tailgate hinge for my 130 (it had cracked right through) and it will come bare steel. What is the best way to paint it? By hand, spray shop or get it powder coated? Couldn't find secondhand and noone seems to stock these aftermarketj - $530 from dealer!

Im certainly no expert but for windscreen hinges I used etch primer as soon as I got them then got a paint from sca that matched the color code followed by a clear coat. 6 months so far so good.

If you have the paint code an automotive paint supplier can fill a rattle can with the correct colour paint for about $40

Thanks guys - I'll take it to a paint shop and get them to scan the car and match the paint for the hinge.

I did quite a bit of touch up painting on the sons Puma.

I went to Auto Barn with the paint code, they mixed the paint, and put it in a spray can.
    The colour match was perfect.
For areas where I needed a small brush,i sprayed some paint into the lid of the tin and brushed it on, came up very well, and 12 months later, still fine.
