    1.6 transfer.

I have a 2001 TD5 110 Extreme. Stock diff. ratios and 33s. has plenty of power but is heavy and sometimes tows a single axle van. I am considering going to an Ashcroft 1.6 ratio transfer gearset. I already have 49% MR Auto transfer gears, so please don't suggest 4.11 diffs. I may go to 35s when tyres get down. Who has experience of this situation? I have drilled down in the Ashcroft ratio selector chart and have all the numbers.........but what is real life like? I rarely drive over 90 KPH, by the way. Any and all info. welcome. Cheers.

    Hi,

What are you actually getting to achieve?

I want a slightly lower high range. I have subsequently found that what I was querying is not achievable without remachining my current transfer crawler gearset. This sounds expensive to me! So I have changed tack and will now look at 4.11 diff. gears to achieve the same end.
