Hi Folks
I know it's almost impossible to guess what that fuse is for so let's forget that and I take it out ans see if anything no longer works.
BUT...
...surely someone knows what that blue multi-pin plug is for?
Thanks
The previous owner fitted the last injector loom. Also placed some nice fleece to observe if oil is coming from there to the ECU. There was only a drop but some coming out of the connector in the rocker cover so I will change the injector loom I guess.
I did put pin ****** into the wires just below the connector to relieve any pressure coming from the injectors and prevent flow between wire and insulation. I read on the SA forum about this and it seems to make sense. If the oil comes out here rather than travel down the loom that surely must be a good thing.
BUT, I noticed and am confused about two things:
1. There is a 7.5A fuse connected to a brown and brown with stripe wire and both go to the thick loom that comes from the tunnel. What could that possibly be?
2. There is a blue connector unused next to the red one in the ECU. What could that be?
What is that IMG_0291.jpg64387239721__FD7EDC7B-D819-41FD-84CE-81098141C786.jpgIMG_0290.JPG64387245498__56DF0DB1-ECC0-4042-BCE4-46A162EC415E.JPG

Hi Parker,
The blue plug, isn't a plug, its a header which are just used to join parts of the loom. If you ever have the dash off your Td5 you'll notice a few more blue headers and I think some grey ones.
Haven't check the wiring diagram for a while but should be K109.
I have the same blue fuse covered in black tape in my loom so its factory, I haven't pulled it to see what cuts out. I was very careful with it when moving my loom/ecu into an ex-box.
Cheers Discofender
Your best guess would be having a look at the wiring diagrams in the workshop manual ;-).
Thanks Discofender,
brilliant, that Ex-box idea especially to move it to a relatively safe and accessible position. Alas no longer available it seems!
Amazing to have a fuse with an unknown purpose....wonder what chance I have of finding out!?
Wiring diagrams do my head in. I have tried, and with the various additions the previous 2 owners have made I have given up for now.
I bought a Traxide loom and am waiting to be brave enough to somehow run the thick wire from the battery except there are two under the seat and it is incredibly tight in there!
Thanks again!
There are 11 connectors and this nicely identifies them:
Under Seat - Find Land Rover parts at LR Workshop
The purpose of the blue fuse (No 11) is still unclear.
