Help needed getting my 85 county to have indicator cancelling function.

Steering wheel attachment changed in 1987, so later ones won't fit (assuming the steering shaft is original).

Ass U Me . But it's not just LR. They all do it. When Renault got involved with Nissan they were stunned to see Nissan had 85 different steering wheels when all they had were around 20 different cars, and they had inventory of all 85. Not even perfect Toyota is perfect. They are notorious for making things like switchgear that looks identical across models but do not fit across models.... Combination switches in particular.
Working spare parts for an individual marque is a nightmare. God knows how mobs like Bursons do it.

as suggested it could be an easy fix. I was thinking of tapping and drilling two holes in the underside face of the steering wheel and screwing in a couple of small bolts to lock into the slots but I have a hundred fiddly jobs to do in the country and kind of wanted a quick fix as well as an excuse to buy a LR steering wheel.

Probably the easiest pins to use would be roll pins. Just drill the correct size holes and tap them in. They're spring steel, so will be quite a firm fit without the need to tap a thread or anything else.

I’ve picked up some pins from my auto electrician in case the ring thing doesn’t work. :BigThumb:
