200TDI possible over heating issue

I don’t have any visible leaks.

When it says it’s hot is it actually boiling? If the gauge says max for that long it should be.

I’m going to go with the cause being a faulty gauge. I’ve done some temp reading and they are all coming in well below the gauge reading. Sensor is reading 90 deg C.

Good to hear. I’d start with the sender unit. It’s more likely and way easier to change.

Goop news, as Tins said in an earlier post, running at red on the gauge isn’t good for the engine, having a hand held thermometer
to check things is a godsend these days
Makes life so much easier to locate problems and good just to gauge running temperatures of gearbox, diffs, hubs etc

Bit of a long shot this but I will throw it in anyway. I was having bother with my alternator (it turned out to be faulty wiring coming from it) and it would send my temperature gauge into the red.
