    EGR Pyrometer Install Victoria

I just installed a new BAS intercooler, hoses (getting mechanic to install the small elbow), Nugget air box and sealed pipes, and BAS 170 tune.

I’m feeling a bit nervous about EGR temps as it’s summer and wanted to see if anyone had recommendations on places to get an EGR pyrometer installed in the manifold in Vic?

    Thanks

If it is a TD5 then there is a small round nubbin just in front of the turbo. This is an ideal place to put the sensor.

If he's running a BAS 170 it'll be a Puma, otherwise good idea!

Yeah, EGT, sorry, and yeah a 2.2 Puma. Just trying to get it pre-turbo for an accurate reading.

    Drill and tap

Bit of grease on the drill bit and tap to prevent stuff going in.

Just above the turbo flange on the manifold.

Can I suggest getting one of these.
You can tell pretty quick when EGT is rising as coolant will rise as well.

Quick tip is to not let revs fall below 2000rpm.
I also fitted one of these
JRP 14in1 Digital OLED Multi Gauge Display v2.5 :: Buy Here
gives me oil pressure, temp and coolant temp with alarm set points.

Thanks, yeah, I've been using an Ultragauge since 2016 which gives good info. I've ordered a Thermoguard setup and am just waiting for that to arrive.

I had the P0101-16 fault pop up again, and decided to push through the install of the small 90 degree turbo hose (unbolting the water pump was the best way for me to get that thing installed). There wasn't any damage to that hose, so I took my MAF sensor out, blew some air through it, and reinstalled (I have a new Nugget air box that I installed at the same time). Fingers crossed I don't keep getting that fault.
