    X-trouser strikers

    Hi all,

One of the Defenders hadn't broken for a few days, so I thought I would reward it's good behaviour with the above mentioned strikers.

100 of my Australian dollars later... This turned up:

    Thoughts anyone?

I assume you are referring to the blue bag ... must have bought them out I guess. Look the same as what I have.

My tip is use some medium locktite on the allen head set screw - I had mine work loose on corrugations of cape york and jammed my door closed.

Ours arrived in a blue bag. Have fitted them and only a few months use but so far so good - no wear marks on the pin (probably just wearing the door catch instead).
At least it is still UK country of origin .....or is that just the label is C of O - UK?

    I did, but I was exaggerating, I paid $95.

Do all the X-trouser strikers have a non spinning roller? I thought they they would be like the LR product bit with a smoother end and a brass roller.. I thought I read that somewhere anyway but am possibly imagining it, these are fixed and steel by the look of it.

    Yeah mine are non-spinning.
Although you can loosen off the Allen bolt at the end and spin the 'sleeve' around.
I've found that I need to do this every so often as the sleeve wears, so that the door striker contacts a new, unworn bit of the sleeve. Otherwise the resulting rattle and high pitch squeak in my right ear drives me slightly insane... X-trouser strikers

I just wrapped the sleeves in electrical tape. It needs replacing regularly but it tightens it up and stops them rattling.

    Cheers,
    Jon

I did that for years but eventually bought the X-trousers about 8 or so years ago.
I sold the Deefer over 4 years ago but are probably still fine.

    They were well worth it
