I sold the Deefer over 4 years ago but are probably still fine.

    They were well worth it
Sorry, meant I do it to the X-trousers. I found them a lot noiser than the standard ones, but so much kinder to one’s trousers.

    Cheers,

my X trouser striker is so scored that it causes the door to jam and i have to slam the door to engage. Might do the loosen the collar and find a new place to start the scoring again. On balance, the number of pants the OEM plastic striker damaged is less annoying than slamming a door and using a shove of the shoulder to open each time. I put it in the basket of 'idea of it is better than the reality'. I have a basket of those parts under the house.

Mine have been on for 5 years and have been OK. I keep a tube of lithium grease handy beside the seat and lube them about every 6-8 months, that stops the annoying noises. they do still wear but I've had no jamming or coming loose.
Didn't stop SWMBO destroying a pair of old jeans on the weekend though, not sure how she did it but she did a good job, just as well she had good undies on
