    Td5 Alternator

Anyone know where I could source a Td5 Alternator?
New or used, Sydney or lower north coast area preferably.

    Td5 Defender Alternator Replacement

What's a fair and reasonable time to replace an Alternator on a Td5 Defender?

Depending on the weather, I’d start at about 9:30? I like to get the job over in time for a drive later in the day. That leaves time for an afternoon beer in a remote location admiring your work!

Ok, jokes aside, on my discovery, I guess an hour (less if you’re experienced) or max two with “issues”? No counting getting tools out etc. The worst part the plug was jammed in mine (D2) and snapped off. It’s pretty straightforward if you’re just changing the whole thing out.

Thanks davros, that's about what I thought. So if someone claims to have taken 5 hours, they must have paused to admire their work and have quite a few beers along the way!

Could be up to a week or so .. depending on whether the lower bracket was or wasn't snapped.
