Is that like having all your passwords the same? One is hacked and you are in trouble.

My cars are a bit like my bank accounts: both are worthless......

Actually though, I use a random password generator, so if my Mac ever gets dementia and forgets them i'm screwed.

If I find another cheaper source I will let you know. If you find a cheaper source could you please let me know.

    Kind regards

The best I've found thus far was from Landybitz on the Gold Coast - $84 excl. postage for the key blank CWE500390. Link: Land Rover Defender Key Blank CWE500390 . If I find anything cheaper I'll pop it in the thread

Went to my local kiosk cutter in the shopping centre to get a spare for my Disco. Without me letting on the brand, the guy took one look at my key and said he couldn't cut a spare. I asked why not and he said its a Land Rover key. I asked how do you know that, and he responded he used to own a LR. He said I would have to source a blank from a LR supplier. Local LR didn't have any, neither did a local independent.
You don't mean MR Automotive perchane? I've been in touch with British Off Road but I'll try them as well. Cheers

    RIGHT:
Amalgamated Locksmiths (search for them on ebay) $14 odd dollars ea. I use these for all Defenders as its a big fat key for Defender owners.
Found an amalgamated locksmiths in Brisbane (my area), not sure if it's the same one but they seem to have LR keys. Hopefully they've got some blanks cheaper than $80.. Cheers mate

Enjoy Mike rambling, or go to about 9:40 where he mentions keys:

many moons ago my only key was so warn it was hit and miss to engage the pins in the starter barrel. I didn't have a spare key and fob. I followed DazzaTD5's approach at great expense. i bought an original LR blank and a generic blank and a new fob. I don't recall any issues with cutting the key by the local Mister Minute. Was a rude shock for LR to code the fob. All up i paid a little under $500 for 2 cut keys and a coded fob. Hoping to not repeat that exercise.

Another reason a Nanocom is valuable, for the appropriate vehicle. Fob programming is a snap... err, maybe I should rephrase that...
