    Used prices

    Just been looking on Carsales.

Searched for 2012 onwards in Vic with the K's set at 150,000 or less.

Jesus, the prices are eye watering. They start 65 grand for a shorty going up to 100 grand for a 2015 110 with 60,000K on the clock.

Is this what this are changing hands for now or is everyone getting greedy and no one wants to blink first?

Mate the hot tip is to ditch the Deefer idea and buy a Disco 2 or 1 in top condition. Or a 130 Defender of you need more capacity as they don't seem to be as crazy ad the 90's and 110's. Cheers

Yeah, well the D2 asking prices are also 'encouraging'. If you have one, that is.

    Used prices

That’s the nature of them now.

Whilst we don’t plan to move ours on - we have a very nice 2015 90 70,000km here we would consider selling for $90k Used prices

This is why I was asking. You don't want to sell yours, but you will if you get a big offer.

So are the ones on Carsales people just trying it on, fishing for silly offers, or do vehicles change hands for those kinds of prices?

They change hands.. i had an offer of $85k a few months ago.

At that time we didn’t have the RRS so knocked it back.

Not sure why you think people are being greedy.

It is normal economics, supply and demand, if there is more demand than supply, you pay more, if you can't afford what is being asked, then don't buy, buy something else.

If you are a genuine buyer, work out your budget, and make some offers, if you are low balling, you will soon be told by the sellers, and you can adjust your offer, or buy something else.

if you look around worldwide, Australia is about the cheapest place to buy a Defender.

as my Pa said "what so now they stop building them, everyone wants one"
