Don't be so sure about that!
Water crossings are uncounted out there more than you might suspect.

Jojo mate that is bloody glorious !!!!
When we gonna see you back in the land of Aus ?!
G'day mate!
As soon as I have acquired the funds necessary for relocating my family and the shipment of all my equipment and belongings, including the vehicles . Honestly, would be great to be back. There are days when you simply want to pack your stuff and get going. Maybe I just should load the truck and take the long road overland... Now, that would be cool! Also one of my childhood dreams...
How are you folks doing under the QLD sun? I'm really hoping to catch up with you again one day!!!
Cheers
Over the last few years there has been FAR too much water, and not quite enough sun.
But yes, no snow to speak of which I count as a win. Means I can ride the motorbike all year round... :D
A couple of photos from the easter camping trip.
Got a bit tricky with truck, camera and photoshop.

Very well done with the multiple exposure! Love the Defender btw.. the colour is awesome! :)
I've wanted a Defender ever since I was about 10
Dad wanted one, but Mum couldn't drive manual - so we bought a disco instead. It was a new '94 V8 at first, then a new '97 tdi which was much nicer.
I bought my first Landy at the end of 2007, it was a 1970 2a 2.25L petrol ute ("Bruce") with both ute roof and full-length soft-top, which I then added to by buying a full hardtop roof. I still have Bruce, but he's just too exhausting to take on long drives (especially the overdrive whine!!!!!!!!!). My wife and I loved almost everything else about Bruce, so we started looking for a Defender.
On Monday night we travelled North with a mate to inspect a 1997 wagon..... a couple of hours later we were southbound with our new Defender!!!!!!! We're absolutely delighted with him, and are planning to fix up a few things pretty soon to keep us ahead of the maintenance game (timing belt is of unknown age so that'll be first in line, head gasket has a very small weep and we'll kill the rust in the bottom of the doors). We've decided to keep things simple and call him "Bruce", so now the 2a has become "Old Bruce".
Here's a photo from the service station on the way home with him :)
Congratulations! Very nice wagon!
