Got out of Perth with the kids to give Granny and Grandpa a hand on the farm.
Day before mustering to do some ear marking and drenching.
Benta is a small town a few hours drive out of Kuala Lumpur, crossing a state border from Selangor into Pahang state.
Pictures start at the trail head. Most of the vehicles with me are highly modified non-Landys. My dual cab is pretty much stock standard.
Pretty open trail to start with. The further into the jungle the more it closes in....in no time we had to start cutting a path through underbrush.
Haha,, I miss that life.
But looking at the pic, sometimes you've got to wonder why we go to all the trouble of owning 4x4's when some clown just drives up in a Merc.
Whilst working at a Carrot farm in the Dandenongs many many years ago, the owner came through the paddock, red muddy dirt, with his Ferrari
Didn't seem to worry him one bit getting it filthy.
Beer gut and dark tee is me. The 110DC is my daily driver back in the city.
Notice the rest of the convoy are all modified vehicles. Raised, larger tyres, XT or MT tyres, etc.
Not that it's heavily loaded in the pic (we had done several drops along the trail) my pretty much stock standard landy, still sporting AT tyres it came with, could carry the most payload (by weight, not volume) and had no issues keeping up with the "big boys" despite thick mud, rough trails, broken log bridge crossings etc.
Not much breeze today so picked up a water tank to transport home.
Used the winch on the Puma to roll it on and off the old Defender. Looks a bit like a giant snail
Glad that job is done
