G'day maxthomas,
Thanks for the pics, looks like a great trip you had.
Was just wondering have you had any suspension upgrades on your current rig, from the images it seems to sit nice and high when loaded?
The only reason I ask is my 2013 defender is set up much the same as what yours appears to be but had much less space between the top of the tyre and guard as what yours does when carrying a fair load.
Cheers Jeff
50 Years between the two and still going strong.
Thanks!
I'll probably add on a few bits and bobs as I work out what I need, but will try to keep it relatively "standard" and certainly non-bling! After all, it's my daily drive with a bit of off-roading to get where I want to go, not an all-out expedition monster.
Here's a little collage of my road-spec car tackling some easy off-road in the Kaimanawa Forest Park at the weekend...

A spot of fishing at Preston Beach on the weekend, best I have ever seen it...
A little under 2 weeks ago, after over 8 years together, SWMBO and I got married at a small ceremony near Healesville in the Yarra Valley
And what better wedding car for SWMBO to arrive in than our new Defender
Here it is just after it got its ribbons tied to it.

Well done mate, now I can prove to my wife that the defender can be used as a wedding car. Last year we turned up at her cousins wedding in Melbourne with my then 1 month old defender and I had everyone snapping photos. The groom said "we should have used this as the grooms car".
I chauffeured my cousin to his wedding in my perentie last year, and the wedding photographer was asking if I would hire my services out cos here reckoned there would be quite a demand....
