Quite true - all good points. I looked into a few different bash plates and chose the OL version as...

- no reduction in approach angle,
- the leading edge and base of the guard are perforated with large diameter holes which allow airflow,
- it's easy to hose out.
- it provides the greatest level of frontal underbody protection. ;)
