Swapping a TD5 for a V8 would be like pulling a Ferrari motor and replacing it with a Model T motor. :D

You'd destroy the resale, use more fuel, go slower, pay 8/5th more for repairs (yep, more cylinders! :D) and all of that stinky farty pollution would mean that you'd never get engineering approval.

Where do you think the R&D for "The Storm" came from?
