Another dealer myth i suppose..................

G’day all. Just a little note if you guys don’t already know. The ‘Owners Manual’ for the SVX is available to down load from the links on the Land Rover UK web site. I won’t comment. I’ll leave it up to the individual to makeup their own minds on what they think of it.
Cheers
Thanks for that info........interesting to see the ipod docking station is a cable hanging down:D I wonder how long it took the designers to come up with that little technical gem.
gday, just wondering why you cancelled your order ? we have a svx on order and where told it would be ready end of october. and we live in WA...
Yeah, there are a few questions the ‘Owners Manual’ raised for myself! The resetting of the alarm when the remote battery goes flat? What a load of rigmarole! Connections for a trailer plug and the dash board indication light? Will it still work if I get a non genuine towbar and wiring harness fitted? I guess we’ll all figure it out in good time.
Hay Brocky, When I ordered mine, I was told that there was only two coming to WA. If that’s still the case. If you see another SVX on the road in Perth, it’s me. So G’day mate:thumbsup:
well what i heard about the svx's in wa was that there where only 2 coming to WA and they where snapped up pretty quickly ie. before anyone else knew about them, well then the dealership was able to get 2 more, one is for the dealership owner (alf) and we got the other one..
i actually made a call to the other landrover dealership in perth to see if they had any in, well they didnt but they thought they could get there hands on one from the eastern states...
ever way, looks like there will only be a few of us on the road.
Can't see why not. It has to be the same as every other Defender and standard Aus-spec trailer wiring just splices into the harness in behind the RH rear wheel. Most auto-electricians leave the standard UK-spec plug in place and splice in the wires behind it. The only thing to watch for is if you have LED trailer lights because the resistence is so low the system thinks there is a bulb out.
Other things to note:
If you use a standard Land Rover bar then you can keep the rear step but it limits the size of any aux fuel tank you might want to fit. If you use a Hayman Reece bar the step has to go but you can replace the standard fuel tank with a much bigger long range one.
If you want the genuine towbar so you can keep your step, but also with a larger fuel tank, it can be done. There is a 45l aux tank that goes in the rear section behind the fuel filler and gravity feeds into the main tank - these are from OL. I have one and it's great. I can get about 1200km from a full tank.
